Actor Yash, who essays the role of Ravana in filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari's highly anticipated project 'Ramayana', has cleared up persistent rumors surrounding the film's staggering financial figures. During a recent television appearance, Yash addressed previous statements made by producer Namit Malhotra regarding the purported Rs 4,000 crore budget. He explained that the figure is a cumulative estimate covering two parts of the film, which incorporates extensive international promotional campaigns, distribution, and global release costs akin to Hollywood production standards. Yash emphasized that positioning Indian cinema on a global scale requires substantial financial backing and hard work, noting that projects like 'Ramayana' and 'Toxic' aim to elevate Indian films onto the international stage. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the multi-starrer feature stars Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana, alongside an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, and Lara Dutta, with a theatrical release slated for Diwali.
