Annamalai to Launch New Party Next Month
Annamalai also announced that once the party is formed, he will introduce term limits for leaders so that new faces get regular opportunities instead of old ones dominating. His target is to enroll 50 lakh members, out of which 18 lakh have already joined.
Speaking on a social media platform, Annamalai said that the number of people joining the movement is continuously increasing. He emphasised that around 18 lakh people have joined without any expectations. The membership drive is not just online but also involves workers reaching out directly to people.
He claimed that the movement will take a completely different shape once it becomes a full political organisation in July. Annamalai assured that his organisation will work with complete honesty and will not mislead people. He also made it clear that all religions are equal for him and his party will stay away from any kind of divisive politics.
Annamalai further said that the membership drive will be intensified in the coming months. He aims to turn this initiative into a major mass movement to strongly raise various issues related to Tamil Nadu. He specifically mentioned the growing problem of drug addiction among the youth and said a big awareness campaign will be run from village to village and city to city.
On introducing term limits for leaders, he said that giving opportunities to new people in politics is very important. After the party is formed, a time limit for leadership positions will also be considered.
Annamalai also appealed to successful Tamil professionals and technical experts living abroad who want to enter politics, saying his organisation will provide them a proper platform.
