Ethanol Will Now Be Made from Seasonal Fruits!

In a major step towards boosting biofuels and increasing farmers’ income, CSIR-NIIST Hyderabad has signed an MoU with biotech startup 3CousinLabs to develop technology for producing ethanol from fruit pulp and juice.

The project will focus on using unsold and processing-grade seasonal fruits, reducing post-harvest losses and creating new income sources for farmers.
