Shower of Gifts on Bengal Day
PM Modi will launch several key central agriculture schemes in West Bengal, including the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), AgriStack, National Mission on Natural Farming, and Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana.
Under the PM-Kisan scheme, he will release the 23rd instalment of Rs 18,880 crore, benefiting more than 9.44 crore farmers across the country.
### PM Fasal Bima Yojana Launch
The Prime Minister will launch the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana in West Bengal. In 2026-27, the scheme aims to provide insurance cover to around 50 lakh farmers over nearly 14 lakh hectares of agricultural land. The insured sum is expected to be around Rs 28,140 crore.
### AgriStack Launch
Under the Digital Agriculture Mission, PM Modi will launch AgriStack in West Bengal. This unified digital platform will facilitate verified agricultural services such as fertiliser distribution, Kisan Credit Card, Direct Benefit Transfer, and MSP procurement.
### National Mission on Natural Farming
The Prime Minister will also launch the National Mission on Natural Farming to promote sustainable and chemical-free agriculture based on traditional Indian methods. In 2026-27, the state plans to create 346 natural farming clusters across 17,300 hectares.
### PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana
As a major step towards agricultural development, the Prime Minister will implement the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana in Purulia, Darjeeling, Alipurduar, and Jhargram districts.
### Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Projects
PM Modi will inaugurate a modern fishing harbour in Fraserganj, South 24 Parganas, and a new modern fish market in Sainthia, Birbhum. He will also inaugurate a Regional Semen Production Laboratory and Semen Bank for goats in Harighata, Nadia. This facility, developed under the National Livestock Mission, is the first of its kind in eastern India.
