Sweeping After Sunset is Prohibited as per Vastu Shastra

According to Vastu Shastra, a broom is not just a cleaning tool — it is considered a symbol of Goddess Lakshmi (wealth and prosperity). Therefore, it is very important to follow certain rules while using it to maintain positive energy, happiness, and prosperity in the home.

Important Vastu Rules for Sweeping:

  • Direction of Sweeping: Always sweep from the main entrance door towards the inside of the house. Never sweep from inside towards the outside, as it is believed to push Goddess Lakshmi out of the home.

  • Best Time for Sweeping: The most auspicious time is early morning, especially during Brahma Muhurta. Sweeping after sunset or in the evening is considered highly inauspicious.

  • Evening Sweeping Rule: If you must sweep in the evening, do not throw the garbage outside at that time. This can lead to financial losses and instability.

  • Garbage Disposal: After sweeping, throw the garbage out immediately. Accumulated garbage invites poverty and negativity.

Care & Respect for the Broom:

  • Never step on the broom with your feet.

  • Do not leave it standing openly in the house.

  • Always keep the broom hidden or in a discreet place.

  • It is auspicious to start using a new broom on Saturday.

By following these simple Vastu guidelines, you can maintain positive energy, prosperity, and peace in your home while avoiding unnecessary financial or energetic losses.

Note: These are traditional Vastu beliefs meant for guidance. Many people follow them for mental peace and positivity.
