A shocking new angle has emerged in the Pune murder case. According to police, Siya Goyal told investigators she did not want to marry Ketan Agarwal. She believed that if Ketan was eliminated, she would get at least three years before facing any marriage pressure.

Police suspect that Siya and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary planned the murder to avoid social embarrassment of breaking the arranged marriage.

Investigation has revealed that before the February engagement, Siya and Chetan went on a five-day trip to Udaipur with friends in January. Police are now examining digital evidence, mobile locations, and deleted chats from their phones to determine if the murder was planned during this trip.

Both accused had deleted WhatsApp chats and emptied recycle bins. Forensic teams are trying to recover the data. Police are also looking into how Siya and Chetan first met through cricket matches involving Siya’s brother.
