Israel Would Not Exist Without Me: Trump

US President Donald Trump made a strong statement about his relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Trump said that while Netanyahu respects him, he often has to keep him in check and guide him towards more balanced actions.

In an interview with Axios journalist Marc Caputo, Trump discussed the recent military operations against Iran and future Israeli strategy in the Middle East. When asked about his relationship with Netanyahu, Trump replied, 'The relationship is good, but we have to keep him a little balanced.'

Trump claimed he can stop Israel from taking major military actions against neighbouring countries. When asked if he could prevent Israel from attacking Lebanon, he said, 'Yes, I would stop it.' He added that Netanyahu respects him greatly and does what he says.

Trump repeatedly claimed that he ensured Israel’s security during the recent conflict with Iran. He said his decision to withdraw from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal during his first term prevented Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons and saved Israel from a major threat.

Trump asserted, 'If I weren’t there, Israel would have been destroyed.' He emphasised that without his policies against Iran’s nuclear programme, Israel’s existence would be in danger today.
