Stop Proxies in Lebanon or Face Devastation: Trump
Speaking to the media, Trump said the US could take control of the Strait of Hormuz if needed, which would mean control over 20% of the world’s oil supply. He added that he has a 60-day window and can take any action after that if no agreement is reached.
Trump expressed disappointment that Israel has not been able to effectively eliminate Hezbollah and suggested Syria might be better suited for precise action.
He posted on Truth Social urging Iran to immediately stop its proxy activities in Lebanon. Trump claimed that the recent MoU allowed 19 million barrels of oil to exit the Persian Gulf on June 20.
Meanwhile, Vice President JD Vance said good progress has been made on maintaining a ceasefire in Lebanon, though the situation remains delicate. Iran has made it clear it will not proceed with further talks until Israeli attacks in Lebanon stop.
