New Smart City to Come Up Along Yamuna Expressway; Relief for Sports City Projects

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is expanding its developmental vision by planning a new smart city across an 8,000-hectare area situated between the upcoming Noida Airport and the Tappal-Bajna urban node.

Key Highlights of the Project:
- Complete Ecosystem: Moving beyond purely industrial growth, the new city will feature residential sectors, educational institutions (schools, colleges, a university), major hospitals, hotels, malls, and shopping complexes.
- Timeline & Tenders: YEIDA has invited bids from expert agencies to draft the techno-economic feasibility report and master plan by August 5, with technical bids opening on August 7. The selected consultant will have 10 months total (6 months for feasibility, 4 months for the final master plan) to complete the blueprint.
- Sports City Revamp: In a related boost, Noida Authority has permitted joint developers for stuck residential projects on the SC-2 plot in Sector 150, allowing financially stressed builders to find partners and deliver long-delayed flats to homebuyers following recent Supreme Court rulings.
