Punjab is known as the land of gurus, filled with religious sites that hold deep faith and reverence. Among them is Gurudwara Sri Talhan Sahib, located about 12 kilometers from Jalandhar, which is widely popular for a unique tradition. Also known as the Shaheed Baba Nihal Singh Ji Gurudwara, people visit this sacred place to pray for their desires, particularly related to traveling abroad. According to local belief, if someone faces hurdles in getting a passport or visa, offering prayers here clears the path. Once their wishes are fulfilled, devotees return to present a toy aeroplane and offer voluntary service and donations. Thousands of people visit every month, especially on Sundays, keeping this decades-old tradition alive.
