Rajkot Double Murder Solved: Ex-Lover Arrested for Killing Former Girlfriend and Her Husband

Rajkot rural police have arrested Suresh Bariya for the brutal double murder of a young couple—Durga and her husband Rohit—at a farm in Moticmarad village under the Patanvav police station jurisdiction.

- The Incident: On the night of July 13-14, the bodies of Durga (daughter of the farm owner) and her husband Rohit were found bludgeoned to death with severe head injuries inside their agricultural field where they had gone for pesticide spraying.
- Motive and Investigation: Police analyzed CCTV footage spanning 10 kilometers and interrogated locals, leading them to Suresh Bariya. Interrogation revealed that Bariya and Durga had been in a relationship for three years before family circumstances prevented their marriage. Durga married Rohit about a year and a half ago and cut ties with Bariya, which fueled resentment in the accused.
- Execution and Arrest: Spotting the couple together at the farm during the day, Bariya plotted the attack. Armed with a heavy iron pipe, he attacked Rohit first and then Durga during the night, killing both on the spot. Police have arrested Bariya, who worked as a sharecropper in a neighboring field, and are currently working to recover the murder weapon.
