Tension Escalates from Iran to Oman: US and Iran Engage in Major Military Strikes

Tensions in the Middle East have once again reached a boiling point. Over the past three days, large-scale military actions have taken place between Iran and the United States. Iran launched missile attacks on several US military bases, while the US targeted over 300 Iranian military sites over three nights. Meanwhile, Iran announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, though US President Donald Trump countered this, claiming the strait remains open and vessel movement is normalizing.

Under President Trump's directive, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) launched a massive retaliatory campaign against Iran, striking over 300 targets. These included missile and drone bases, naval facilities, ammunition depots, and communication networks. According to Iranian media, multiple explosions rocked Bandar Abbas, Sirik, Qeshm Island, Bushehr, and Jask.

In retaliation, Iran fired ballistic missiles at several US military bases across the region. The most significant attack was reported at Jordan's Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, which houses US F-35 fighter jets. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed to have damaged the command center and MQ-9 Reaper drone hangars at Prince Hassan Air Base. Iran also targeted the US 5th Fleet headquarters in Bahrain, along with US bases in Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, and Oman. Smoke was seen rising in Bahrain, and an attack on a Pentagon refueling station in Oman was also reported. Iran's air defense systems have been activated in Tehran, and the Iranian Air Force is on high alert.

Following airstrikes in Musandam and Al Wusta, Oman summoned Iranian Ambassador Mousa Farhang to hand over a protest note. Qatar strongly condemned Iran's attacks, calling them a violation of international law, and demanded an immediate halt to all military actions for regional stability. Iran accused several Arab Gulf nations of assisting the US by allowing the use of their military bases and airspace for the ongoing campaign. However, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and the UAE firmly rejected these allegations, stating they are not part of any war and that their defense agreements with the US are solely for regional security, not for launching military actions against a third country.
