Benefit of AI Should Reach Every Person in the World
PM Modi stated that innovation is important, but making that innovation accessible to people is even more crucial. If technology remains confined to a few countries or companies, its true potential cannot be realised for the world.
He highlighted India’s strong digital footprint, saying that nearly half of the world’s digital transactions happen in India. This shows how deeply technology has been integrated into the lives of common people in the country.
The Prime Minister pointed out that while the world faces many challenges, India is using technology in areas like finance, education, health, and agriculture. He recalled his speech at VivaTech in 2021 during the Covid pandemic, where he had said that where old thinking fails, innovation shows the way.
PM Modi also spoke about India’s thriving startup ecosystem, which now has over 2 lakh startups. He invited everyone to visit the India Pavilion at the event, where new technologies like 3D-printed rocket engines, genetic therapy, AI-based cancer detection tools, cybersecurity solutions, robotics, and smart city projects are being showcased.
He assured that India is making rules easier for businesses and providing more than $50 billion in incentives to industries. India is also offering the world’s cheapest data and affordable green energy, making it an attractive destination for global companies.
PM Modi stressed that AI should not be limited to a few powerful nations or companies. He called for responsible and inclusive use of Artificial Intelligence so that it can help improve lives, drive development, and protect the environment.
