Clean Sweep of Afghanistan

India defeated Afghanistan by 9 wickets in the third and final ODI at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday. Chasing a target of 219, India achieved the victory in just 28.4 overs.

With this win, India whitewashed Afghanistan 3-0 in the ODI series. Yashasvi Jaiswal played a stellar knock, scoring an unbeaten 110. Rohit Sharma made 79, while Prasidh Krishna took 5 wickets.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma gave India a flying start with a 165-run partnership for the first wicket. Rohit scored 79 off 69 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes. Yashasvi remained unbeaten on 110 off 86 balls, studded with 14 fours and 3 sixes.

Afghanistan batted first after winning the toss and scored 218 in 44.2 overs. Hashmatullah Shahidi scored a century (102), but Prasidh Krishna’s five-wicket haul restricted them.

This was India’s sixth victory against Afghanistan in ODIs. Afghanistan is still waiting for their first win against India in this format.
