In a significant achievement for Indiaโ€™s agriculture and food processing sector, the first commercial shipment of dried whole egg powder from Balangir, Odisha, has been sent to Austria.

The consignment was exported by APEDA-registered company OVO Farm Private Limited. APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev virtually flagged off the 22.6 metric tonne shipment.

The company set up a modern egg processing unit in Balangir in 2025 that meets international food safety standards, including FSSC 22000, Halal, and Kosher certifications. The egg powder is prepared using spray-drying technology, which preserves nutrients and allows long shelf life with easy transportation.

This product is widely used in food processing, bakery, confectionery, and pharmaceutical industries. The export is expected to boost the poultry processing sector in Odisha and create new employment opportunities for farmers and industry workers.

Europe has growing demand for egg powder, and this first successful shipment positions India as a reliable supplier of high-quality processed food products.
