ICAR-IIOR has developed an AI-based advisory service named 'Oilseeds Kisaan Mitra'. This service will provide scientific information on crops like groundnut, mustard, sesame, sunflower, soybean and other oilseeds.
The special feature of this service is that farmers do not need to download any separate app. They can ask questions in their preferred Indian language using their regular WhatsApp and get expert advice.
'Oilseeds Kisaan Mitra' is an AI chatbot that will answer farmers' questions instantly. Farmers can ask questions related to farming in their language and receive research-based information. This service will be available free of cost 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Farmers can get information on seed selection, right time of sowing, farming techniques, disease and pest management, irrigation management, post-harvest care, and many other topics. This will help them take timely and correct decisions and increase their production.
